AOF Activities & Events
Do not go to the Sierra 2 Center for the October general meeting! AOF will not be there. Go to César Chávez Park in downtown Sacramento. There on this day AOF will join hands with other Sacramento-area freethought and humanist groups to bring you the 9th Annual Sacramento Freethought Day Festival.
Freethought Day is an annual celebration of reason, freethought and church-state separation, open to the public; our opportunity to celebrate values and freedoms we all-too-often take for granted today, but which were once seen as radical or revolutionary; a day for freethinkers to "come out" as freethinkers; and a day to remember the independent men and women of mind, those who led us to the ideal of governmental neutrality in matters of faith and conscience.
The theme for 2010: Equality for Everyone.
The 2010 Freethought Day Fair will feature speakers, live music, entertainment, tablers and vendors, an education expo, and children’s activities. Free admission as always. Time: noonish to late afternoon. If you would like to help plan the event, please contact the steering committee at the contact email below.
Join us, and bring your friends, your free minds, and your hearts.
